Client Spotlight: ShareChurch

ShareChurch is an important part of the Church of the Resurrection, one of the largest congregations in the United Methodist Church. The mission of ShareChurch is to provide quality, practical tools and training to clergy, church staff, and volunteers who share a passion for strengthening churches. This is done primarily through hosting leadership and church development conferences, a speaker’s bureau, and by distributing a wide variety of church resources through a website.

Challenge:

Our challenge was to re-design and re-engineer a new website in time for a major, annual national conference including migrating existing features of the existing website to a new CMS while including additional features.

Website Development

Solution:

The solution was the creation and development of a new website for ShareChurch, but the real story is the positive collaboration that took place throughout the entire project.  The combined client/agency team included over a dozen people, so it was very important to communicate well throughout the project. Following a productive, in-person kickoff/discovery meeting, COVID-19 hit and we were forced to communicate virtually. We kept the positive personal touch alive through weekly ZOOM calls. Specific project management and web development tools were also used to keep details of the project on track including Monday.com, Basecamp, InVision and Sifter.

Creative Process

Great web design captures the true essence of the brand while complementing the overall user experience. For ShareChurch, our intentional design approach was to prominently feature the resources, events, and other learning tools that are the core of the ShareChurch mission. We also introduced a new color palette to create a more simple and contemporary look.

Results

The new website was created and tested well before the annual Leadership Conference. This became even more critical as the event had to pivot from an in-person conference to a virtual conference. An informative, user-friendly website helped maximize attendance and engagement with this important event.
